manmeet Gold Member Joined: 1/3/2006 Last visit: 10/7/2025 Posts: 726 Rating: (71)	Dear Kalyan I have no experience with Quantum, but it seems that 6x simply is a denotes a memory range which was not there in previous versions of flexible. Only use this range of memory if you are using it in your PLC program. Just because this memory range is available in newer versions you shall not make the tag using it !!

I've made the same on my WinCC Flexible and I was able to add 6x registers. My version is Flexible 2008 SP3. What is yours ? I don't know if its good idea to encourage you to update WinCC Flex, but better you can ask for support. Ok, first you write your version then we can see communication manual and see if should support or not. If it is not supported then upgrade will be necessery. If supported then maybe you can have some problems with the installation.

So i thought it is newly introduced in SP4. But is available in SP3 also. Now my problem is how to configure this memory addressing in PLC? do we need any external memory card for this addressing? Thanks and Regards, Kalyan SP4 is not a version, it means service pack. 6x range is for extended memory, but it is specific to the PLC, so I can't tell. I've never used Modicon PLCs.

Maybe in older versions of Flexible 6x registers were not present at all ?

Well at least he has the oppertunity to choose 6x register (See screenshot in first post) So he can select it, but I think his problem is: He does not know what it means in the Modicon Quantum PLC.
