Hello, In the following FAQ "What should you watch out for when using the RS485 repeater in PROFIBUS and MPI bus systems?", please see the table ofMaximum line length of a PROFIBUS segment vs. Baud rate. To change baud rate, open HW config. and click on the profibus network line, then a popup window will appear with current profibus network settings, change the baud rate as you want. Hope this helps.

Hello AnilSangwan no, you can NOT change the Profibus speed online. You must do so offline in the HWconfig, download it andit will as such require a CPU Stop/Start. It actually won'tmake sense to allow an online bus speed change and the reasons are: Apart from certain Bus parameters (e.g.Slot time), the important response monitoring time (aka Watchdog time) is changed too when you change the baudrate. This Watchdog time is sent to each DP Slave as a parameter upon DP Master startup (or DP Slave startup in case it had failed). EachDP Slave needs this value to determine whento go into a failsafe state in case the DP Master does not "speak" to it anymore. ADP Master startup is thus mandatory after you change the bus speed, so there is unfortunately no way to change the baudrate "online" and keep the Profibusrunning. I hope this helps |
