daisy Posts: 15 Rating: (0)	Dear all, I have a problem about MP277F IWLAN V2. As I bought MP277F IWLAN V2 and the change station and I use D-link DAP1360; CPU412-3H to form a system. But these day, I look up the MP277F IWLAN V2 user manual, I found that some componets seems include in this system: F-CPU, SCALANCE Access Point and Transponders. First, I would like to ask can the D-link DAP-1360 access point insead of the transponder and SCALANCE Access point funtion? Second, I'll buy the S7-300 F-CPU, but can the mobile277failsafe_IO commuicate to S7-400 CPU412-3H? If not, any mehtod can solve it? Thanks! Best Regards, Daisy

Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hello daisy, the mobile panel MP277F can communicate only to Fail Safe PLC. if there is no safety PLC the runtime will not start. You can connect the Mobile panel also to a regular Wifi Network, but if you have also other communication running over this Wifi Network the safety protocol didn't get the required response times and you system will shut down by safety rules. For a test or this much regulated installation ok. In bigger installations and also with Wifi roaming (more than one Access Points for coverage) you need SCALANCE W.

I already had a S7-400 hardware redundancy system (CPU412-3H) and use S7-300 I/O modules, two MP377 touch screens and eight D-Link (DAP-1360) access points for two MP277F IWLAN V2. Now, I can transfer my application to MP277F IWLAN V2, but it show a window said that: “No Safety Connection available. Reason: Connection not yet completed. Should the panel switched off?” and I press the “Yes” button, the Runtime is terminated. Is this situation means need the F-CPU? If yes, how to the F-CPU communicate to my S7-400 CPU412-3H (hardware redundancy)? Is the F-CPU need any I/O module to do this action (beacuse the F-CPU has "mobile277failsafe_IO") and which type of the I/O module we need, F-I/O module or any S7-300 I/O module? Secondly, is the MP277F IWLAN V2 must use PROFINET I/O to communicate the F-CPU? If not, how can I communicate it? As your reply, you said “other communication running over this Wifi Network”, I would like to ask what is it means because I has 2 MP277F IWLAN V2, is this include your situation? Should I use the SCALANCE switch (because I have MOXA (EDS-408A) switch in my case)? Hello, I think your old MP277 wasn't an Failsafe model (no emergency button). With the new one you need a F-PLC. The system reacts as you described if there is no F-PLC. The requirement for F-System in redundant configuration depends on your safety requirements. If you have any safety sensor normal you need a safety actor of safe operation. If it is not needed (the Emergency Button on Panel) you need only the CPU. For Operation you need the PROFSAFE communication and the Function blocks in Safety PLC Program. There is a sample available. Configuration and Use of the Mobile Panel 277F IWLAN With other communication i mean Laptops, Telephones, other data communication not only SCADA communication. There is no need for special switches, but for Wifi Communication in bigger installations IPCF-MC is the only system which can guarantee fast handover times. A regular Wifi system can have high response times and then the safety system will stop the machine. If you don't need safety, then use very high safety times.

I use RJ45 transfer the application to the MP277F IWLAN V2 and showed the window that I described yesterday. I’ll use F-CPU, but the F-CPU need to communicate to my existing S7-400 hardware redundancy system (CPU412-3H), is use Ethernet can communicate them? Because I need to use these two MP277F IWLAN V2 to control my equipment and indicate their signals. As I have two MP277F IWLAN V2, how many SCALANCE access point and the transponder need to use as we design to use eight D-Link (DAP-1360) before? Can I disable “IPCF-MC” this function? As you said “A regular Wifi system can have high response times and then the safety system will stop the machine.” I would like to ask what means “safety system will stop the machine”. Also, “If you don't need safety, then use very high safety times.” I would like to ask is the MP277F IWLAN V2 has any setting for the safety time? Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hi, if you don't need safety why do you not change the Panel to one without the emergency button? Maybe you should ask your Siemens sale for change. (There is no possibility with software you have to replace the hardware). A normal panel can connect to S7 400 System. There are many follow up steps to do in implementing this panel in your application if you never used Safety controllers. Software Add on for Step 7 is required; Function block has to be added to safety program... Transponder is not a must only if you want use Zones in your application.
