How to communicate through wireless CPU to remote 3 IM(Interface Modules)

Is there any requirement of SCALANCE module? Please reply its urgent.

Here I would suggest to get a CPU with an Ethernet Interface for example a CPU315-2 PN/DP and a ET200S IO System. And additionally you need a SCALANCE W Access Point and 3 Client Modules. Depending on the range andif you need only one Access point to cover the area you could go for: SCALANCE W788-1 RJ45 SCALANCE W748-1 RJ45 Including some omni-directional antennas. But for such detailed advcie more information is necessary. Be aware that the PN IO Update Time would be higher than when a cable is used. This is due to using Wireless Communcication and a shared medium. And don't foget to check: siemens.com/wireless-approvals to make sure the country where you want to install the system is listed as approved.

I know these are basic questions but sorry i m new one in this system so sorry in advance :(

INS Gold Member Joined: 4/6/2006 Last visit: 11/21/2025 Posts: 604 Rating: (56)	Hi, I would suggest to use a SCALANCE W788-1 RJ45 (inside cabinet/building) and 3 Omni Directional Antennas (ANT793-6MN) with the shortest possible cable (1 meter) to the ouside of the cabinet/building. Then you might be able to reach this 200 meters but it would be difficult and it depends on the environmant and the country regulations. If the clients move in a certain Area you could consider using a directed Antenna with a large radiation angle (ANT79*-6DN). Then the signal strenght is concentraded more and you should be able to have a coverage over a longer distance. On the clients you should usethe Client MOdules and asAntenna youcould consider the ANT795-6MT which is an omni-directional antenna which can be mounted on top of the cabinet/vehicle. Or if the cabinets/vehicles are alwayss in the same directon you could also use an Direceted antenna on those. But to give really detailed advice much more needs to be known and you might need some Siemens Expertise. The best way to get this iss getting in contact with you local Siemens sales or the Siemens Partner.

It is taken from the following manual, that will also show you what you need to purchase (antenna and MMC) for the ET 200pro.
