I want to communicate 50 nos of s7-200 Plc's(CPU-226) with wincc.

ESWAR_86 Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Dear Experts, I have a requirement that I want to communicate 50 nos of s7-200 Plc's(CPU-226) with Wincc 7.0. I dont have any idea like what hardware is required and how to do progaram. And these all Plc's are situated with in 500 mtr. Please help me in this regard. Thanks in advance By Eswar.

Make a PPI network to connect your PLC's together collect the data on 1 or more PLC's and then send it to Wincc. How is data exchanged between two SIMATIC S7-200 devices in PPI mode? What are the options for accessing an S7-200 with WinCC? Regards, Marcjan

ESWAR_86 Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Thank you for your feedback, Now 50 S7-200 PLCs are communicating individually with 50 OP-77B HMIs. Now there is no communication between any of two PLCs. I have to make these all PLCs to communicate with Wincc and have to log the data of 50 nos. Plese suggest me whats the procedure, hardware and software required? Thanks in advance, Eswar.

As i told before you have to collect your data in max 8 PLC's and then communicate with Wincc. For communication with Wincc you need PC access. Regards, Marcjan

What are the options for accessing an S7-200 with WinCC? One more point: you say your 50 S7-200s are all connected to individual HMIs. Do they have a free port to connect them to WinCC or other S7-200s? Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier

Hello Eswar; WinCC v. 7.0 comes in 2 versions (development ("complete")and runtime) and is configured by the number of external tags required for your application. See the following Product description from the Siemens Industry Mall; you can also check the Ordering Data tab to look for the part number you would need. https://eb.automation.siemens.com/goos/catalog/Pages/ProductData.aspx?language=en&nodeid=10042373&tree=CatalogTree&regionUrl=/#topAnch&activetab=product& SIMATIC WinCC is available as a complete package and as a runtime package with 128, 512, 2048,8192, 65536, 102400, 153600, 262144 PowerTags ¹⁾. PowerTags are data points that are connected to controllers or other data sources over a WinCC channel. So I would calculate the number of tags (data registers) you want to rread from each S7-200 PLC, calculate the total number, keep some room for extras, and purchase one WinCC package that would cover your needs.
