Small Ant Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hi I'm converting an S5 cpu928 program to s7 300 cpu, i face a couple of error with the BAS instruction as follow PB1 SEGMENT 94 A I 21.7 BAS O F 46.1 ON F 46.1 ) A F 2.0 = F 46.1 * PB9 SEGMENT 14 A I 44.6 BAS A I 44.7 A F 0.3 O F 8.7 ) A F 28.1 = F 8.7 * PB10 SEGMENT 8 A F 1.1 A F 68.2 BAS A F 68.3 A Q 18.3 O F 6.1 ) = F 18.1 * PB11 SEGMENT 157 A F 30.1 AN I 102.4 AN I 102.5 A I 70.7 BAS O I 71.0 O Q 6.6 ) O A F 30.2 A F 32.6 = Q 6.6 * PB13 SEGMENT 70 A F 30.1 AN I 102.4 AN I 102.5 A I 70.7 BAS O I 71.0 O Q 6.6 ) O A F 30.2 A F 32.6 = Q 6.6 *** Can anybody understand what this STL is about. According to the S5_S7 conversion manual, it's able to replace with MCRA, MCR<, MCR>, MCRD, but how? I just cannot understand the STL and the ')' nesting, is that possible to use just ')' as nesting, it must be '(something)' right. Can anybody help on pls.

fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 1/7/2026 Posts: 3054 Rating: (1062)	Hello Small Ant the BAS command is NOT supported in a 928 CPU (it was only available in 946/947 and 948 CPU's). Even if would be supported, it does not make sense the way it is used in your STL logic which looks to me like slightly corrupted code. As you said, open brackets are certainly missing so the "BAS" may in fact have been either an "A(" or an O(" command (your guess is as good as mine in this case) . I suggest you upload your orignal S5 program here for evalution, perhaps thwre is an issue with your Step 5 that leads to a "BAS" instead of the correct instruction being displayed?

Small Ant Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hi Fritz, I had upload the latest S5 program from the PLC at my client site, the previous program that i possess is really corrupted. The BAS instruction really does not exist, just the S5-S7 converter judge the BAS as NOP 1 then convert it to BAS. beside that the BAS is actually an A( nesting.
