Denilson Pegaia Diamond Expert Joined: 9/23/2005 Last visit: 12/23/2025 Posts: 4434 Rating: (1487)	Hi, the main steps are: 1 - Open STEP 7 V12 2 - Open the V11 project (Menu: Project->Open) 3 - Upgrade the project (Menu: Project->Upgrade) The STE7 will perform a conversion and save the new project as name_V12 in a different directory. After that the user should compile PLC's hw and sw before use.

I suggest you open a Support Request. So the experts could take a look at your project. At and, I ask you to post here what they said.

Denilson Pegaia Diamond Expert Joined: 9/23/2005 Last visit: 12/23/2025 Posts: 4434 Rating: (1487)	Hi, migrate is used for non TIA softwares (WinCC flexible STEP 7 V5). It is necessary first o open (with open command) a V11 project. Just after that the option "upgrade" will be enabled.

I followed the 3 steps method described in the first post of this thread but near the end (about 75% of processing) the TIA portal opens a small window titled (0080:000030) telling me the following message: An error occurred while upgrading the project. The small window shows a link to a log File. Unfortunately the log file doesn’t give any significant information. The content of the log file is: Message Time Upgrade started 1/9/2014 1:44:17 AM Reading information from previous project 1/9/2014 1:44:17 AM Updating new project 1/9/2014 1:44:27 AM Updating new project 1/9/2014 1:44:41 AM To finish upgrade of the project, select the menu command "Edit > Compile" for each device in the project. 1/9/2014 1:45:27 AM Upgrade failed. 1/9/2014 1:45:34 AM After the first small window appears other titled (0080:000041) telling me the following message: Upgrade failed. Denilson Pegaia Diamond Expert Joined: 9/23/2005 Last visit: 12/23/2025 Posts: 4434 Rating: (1487)	Hi, My suggestions: 1 - First of all, delete (Windows Explorer) the contends of IM folder (ATENTION delete the contends, not the folder. After that try to open and convert in V12. 2 - Open the project. Open the STEP7 twice. In new instance of STEP7 create or open a new V11 project. Select all devices on Networkview (from first instance of firstSTEP7) and paste in the new project (second STEP7 instance). Save the new project and close all STEP7. After that try to open and convert in V12. 3 - The project maybe is corrupt. Open a Support Request, relate the problem and send the project to be analised.
