I have never worked with S7-1200 and its web server or with TIA portal v11. However, I have some experience with PLC programming (S7-300, Step 7 v5, WinCC) and with making of web pages (HTML, CSS, JS, PHP). I have read "Siemens Easy book for S7-1200" and "Creating and using own Web Pages for S7-1200", both documents written by Siemens. However, even after I read those 2 documents I have some questions so I would be happy to get them answered.

2. How do you have to set up PLC and router so you can access the created web page while you are NOT on a same network as PLC. So let's say the PLC is at work and I am home so I want to go on my computer and type in a browser www.myplc.com[1] and check up on my variables. I understand I need to have a web address, but how do I make that web address point to my PLC?

I hope I have written these questions well since English is not my native language.

1. you have to set te IP Address of your PLC and know it well.

2. Create dns, I personally recomend www.no-ip.org.
2.1. Log in

2.2. Goto HOST/Redirecting > AddHost> Gave it a domain name (eg. plc.zapto.org) > don't change any other stuff > add Host.

3. Go to your router (home) and route de ports 80, 8080 and 443 (if you feel free route from 1 to 9000) to the IP of your PLC

4. In your router place de DNS.

5. In your router , in the DMZ Exosed host set the PLC IP Address.

reboot the router and then go to "you_subdomain".zapto.org.

I hope this can help you, few months ago I did it, doing something like that. I don't remember exactly but I am sure it worked. Unfortunately I don't have access to those codes, couse I am far away from home.
