The ANY pointer data will need to be setup thus:- pAnyVar.S7Code := B#16#10; pAnyVar.DataType := B#16#2; pAnyVar.Length := 100; pAnyVar.DBNumber := 301; pAnyVar.MemoryArea := B#16#84; // or B#16#84 if DB301 is an instance DB pAnyVar.ByteAddressMSB := 0; pAnyVar.ByteAddressLSB := 800; // byte address 100 converted to bitwise addressing = 100 * 8 = 800

Marko Bursic Posts: 1410 Rating: (154)	you can create the pointer as smithy suggest, also you can declare a structure or an array in that DB, for ex. DB30 is called Data and you have an array of 100 bytes called SndBuffer (array [0..99] of byte), so your pointer is like: "Data".SndBuffer

But when I assign it to the DATA parameter of TSEND function It gives me an error status 8088. I have attached screenshot. Here is the code: pAnysend : ANY ; anysend AT pAnysend : STRUCT (* Diassembled ANY POINTER structure ) S7Code : BYTE; ( Code FOR S7 (fixed AT 16#10)) DataType : BYTE; ( Code FOR data TYPE ) Length : WORD; ( Repetition factor = Send/receive length ) DBNumber : WORD; ( Data block Number) MemoryArea : BYTE; ( Specified memory area ) ByteAddressMSB : BYTE; ( BYTE address most significant bits ) ByteAddressLSB : WORD; ( BYTE address least significant bits *) END_STRUCT; anysend.S7Code := B#16#10; anysend.DataType := B#16#2; anysend.Length := INT_TO_WORD(channel.SEND_LEN); anysend.DBNumber := connect.SEND_DB; anysend.MemoryArea := B#16#84; anysend.ByteAddressMSB := B#16#0; anysend.ByteAddressLSB := W#16#0; In STL, same code is working fine. smiffy Platinum Expert Joined: 1/17/2007 Last visit: 11/20/2025 Posts: 1561 Rating: (540)	The error code 8088 is caused by the LEN parameter being greater then the your anysend.Length value (channel.SEND_LEN). The LEN parameter has to be less than or equal to your SEND_LEN value, otherwise, you are trying to send more data than the ANY holds, thus generating the error. You can use a array as your source of data. The following code will do it. I have used it in the past with no issues. You will need your array defining in the VAR (static data) section. [code] VAR_TEMP // Define transmit/receive access ANY pointer pBuf : ANY; // Pointer for receive data BufAny AT pBuf : STRUCT // ANY pointer data structure S7Code : BYTE; // Code for S7 = 0x10 DataType : BYTE; // Code for data type = 0x02 = byte Length : INT; // Repetition factor = Send/receive length DBNumber : INT; // Data block Number MemoryArea : BYTE; // Specified memory area = 0x84 = data block ByteAddressMSB : BYTE; // Byte address most significant bits ByteAddressLSB : WORD; // Byte address least significant bits END_STRUCT; END_VAR; [/code] Then when you want to construct and use the ANY pointer use this code:- [code] pBuf := <array name>; // e.g. pBuf := TXBuf [/code] If you need to modify the send length (or receive length if using TRECV) then you should alter the BufAny.Length field. However this must be done after the pBuf := line of code as this line of code will overwrite your Length field setting. Though I suggest that you might just leave the Length field alone and simply make the array size greater then you maximum ever send length, and use the LEN paremter of the TSEND call to modulate how much data you send.
