After connecting serial cable to siwarex module, by clicking on Online button in siwatool ms software, communication is not happening

kalagouda Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	I am using SIWAREX MS module for weighing, i want to go online by using SIWATOOL MS but module is not communicating. I am using communication cable as per given in its manual(2-3, 3-2,5-5), there is no serial port to my laptop so i am using BAFO make USB TO RS232 converter( i am using same converter to Nexgen PLC's). After connecting serial cable to siwarex module, by clicking on Online button in siwatool ms software, communication is not happening Please help me

In any case, if you made the cable yourself, you should connect the shield as per the attached picture. For using USB/COM converters, Siemens recommends to use certain converters in the following link: What is to do, if there are communication-problems between Siwatool and the Siwarex module by using a USB/RS232-converter? Hope this helps.

What can you see into the Siwatool-software when you try to go online: - error message: “Interface can not be opened”: You selected the wrong COM-port - You can see a lot of retries into the window “Communication status”: the COM-port is present but Siwatool can’t establish a communication 2. Did you control your cable? Is it correct? 3. Is the +24VDC-LED on at the Siwarex MS module? 4. Do you have the software „HardLockDeviceDriver“ or „PROCON-WIN3.3” on your PC? These software disturb the communication. 5. I also recommend you (like Ayman Elotaify) the USB/RS232 interface adapter of the company ATEN. 6. Do you have another PC to test the communication? kalagouda Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Dear sir, tried to communicate by using ATEN make UC-232a cable, right now also communication status window is showing many retries, But there is no communication between siwatool & siwarex module, made connections of communication cable as show in manual (2-3, 3-2, 5-5 & also shield connections as per diagram only), also i have tried with baud rate- 9600, parity-even & none, data bits- 8, stop bits -1, flow control -none, please help me to solve this issue

kalagouda Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Dear sir, As per your last suggestion i have checked all the fallowing points 1.Checked cable with multimeter cable is ok (as per given in manual) 2.24 vdc indicator is on module 3.no hard lock device driver or procon win 3.3 software installed on laptop 4.checked with another laptop ( other laptop is also not having serial port that also checked by using ATEN make USB TO SERIAL converter cable) 5.have 3 siwarex module intalled,(tried to communicate with all three but none of them is communicating) also i have made one more new cable & tried is there any problem with software version, i have installed SIWATOOL Version 1.5.6

Ask the Siwarex Hotline (hotline.siwarex@siemens.com) for the Siwatool-software V2.3.5. But normally also your “old” Siwatool-software has to work. Which Windows operating system (WinXP or Win7) do you have? Can you try to organise a PC with a serial port for a test? Best regards Siwarexi
