Hello,
if you have a automatic generated backup folder of your project you can try to copy the file of the backup folder in the crashed project folder.
1. Copy the crashed project folder in a new folder.
2. Search the files which are listed in the backup folder in the crashed project
3. overwrite the found files in the crashed project with the ones of the backup folder
Then try to open the crashed project with the backup files once again.

What options are there in STEP 7 (TIA Portal) for backing up projects and what is the significance of the backup files of the projects?

"STEP 7 (TIA Portal) creates copies from parts of older project data, which are managed intra-system by the TIA Portal. The TIA Portal creates the backup folder during configuration only after extensive changes have been made. However, the files contained in it are not suitable for a complete restoration."

"These backup files are not backup files of the archive function and cannot be used for manual restoration of STEP 7 (TIA Portal) projects.

Send the project toTechnical Supportif you can no longer operate the project because of data loss. To do this, pack the project directory together with the backup directory into a ZIP file and use the Support Request."
