How do you accomplish this in TIA12 with the S7-1200? I have the following: Function Block AC Instance Data Blocks AC1_DB, AC2_DB From OB1, AC is called first with AC1_DB then with AC2_DB. How can I monitor function block AC with a particular instance data block? I could not find any CPU test mode or any way to edit the call environment. The logic appears to be working correctly but it would be reassuring to be able monitor each instance. |

Hi, is there some constalation of controler x software x user program where is not possible to monitor a specific block call. In this case, the alternative is change (if possible) the blocks call order, once to monitore the first call of it. |

From technical service and support: "Unfortunately this functionality isn't in the TIA Portal software for the 1200. We have been waiting on this but it is not there. If you are using the TIA Portal with a 300 you can do that, but not with the 1200." |

You can now change the call environment when using an S7-1200 having firmware 4.0 under TIA V13. Go into the (multi-instance) FB you wish to monitor. Then from the drawer on the right, select "Testing" and then under "Call environment" push the "Change" button. From there you select which DB will be monitored with the FB you have open. -- When using TIA V13 Professional with PLC Simulator, you can test S7-1200 coding. You have to create the coding inside an S7-1500 PLC to simulate it. When you simulate the code, you can click on the block call of the FB you wish to simulate and ask "open and monitor". The correct instance (call environment) will open. You will see the FB with the right DB opening for monitoring. -- If you wish to monitor a multi-instance FB and your S7-1200 is not of firmware 4.0 - make sure the block calls are arranged so that you call first the FB you wish to monitor. If you have firmware 2.2 or 3.0 you should be able to change the order of the calls wihtout needing to place the PLC in STOP mode. Helpful? w |
