The install simply freezes when trying to install Scout and CPU Usage goes to maximum 100 percent. Any suggestions. I am installing it on Win XP SP2 VM PLayer VM.

Rooprai Advanced Member Joined: 1/30/2009 Last visit: 12/2/2025 Posts: 18 Rating: (1)	HI Guys 1. First i tried installing on WINXP SP3. Tried like 2-3 times, no success. 2. Then i created a new machine with WINXP SP2. Because under the compatiblity chart, Scout 4.1.2 is compatible with WINXP SP2 only. Still same problem. 3. I have installed Step 7 V5.4 SP5 first. Then trying to install Scout. 4. IT freezes on the part where it tries to install the SCOUT. You know how it has like 10 things to install.....first check compatiblity, then Visual C++ (i think) and then couple of other things and then Scout.....It freezes at the Scout install.

After acknowledging it, the scout opens up. But then i can not open an existing project or create a new project. Attachment scout errors on VM first 3 errors when launching.zip (474 Downloads)

ChristophD Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 5/12/2006 Last visit: 12/19/2025 Posts: 22816 Rating: (3073)	Hello, in the log file is see the installation is at the point to install the PG/PC Interfaces via a call of s7epatsx.exe. This problem occurs in many VM installations i do, normaly ich kill the s7epatsx.exe process via taskmanager at this point and the setup continue well. If you cancel the installation at this point the SCOUT installation is corrupt and you get the messages at startup with the XML Meta Data. Regards Christoph
