PLCSIM doesnt work with PLCSIM(TPC/IP) interface

grego_l Experienced Member Joined: 6/25/2009 Last visit: 12/18/2025 Posts: 37 Rating: (5)	Hello Recently I installed Siemens software on new Dell Latitude E5530 laptop Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit. Everything seemed ok unit I tried to use STEP 7 Simatic Manager v5.5 SP3 and S7-PLCSIM V5.4+SP5+Upd2 with TCP/IP interface. I can use MPI interface but TCP/IP doesn't work. I didn’t have this problem when I run my software on Windows XP Professional SP3. Error message: Unable to reach module CPU 315-2 DP/PN by means of the subnet assigned to programming device/PC. I tried to disable Wi-Fi, Ethernet interface, reinstall the software and tried few different configuration. What can be the cause of this problem? Regards

playerslight Posts: 1064 Rating: (72)	do you have a cp343-1 configured in your hardware other wise you don't have tcp/ip and plcsim(tcp/ip) will not work but you could use mpi or profibus instead

grego_l Experienced Member Joined: 6/25/2009 Last visit: 12/18/2025 Posts: 37 Rating: (5)	I've tried with CP 343-1. It didn't work as well.Anyway the same configuration works on Windows XP (little bit older version V5.5of PLCSIM)and on my PLC I have PN port.

In my case I opened the Windows explorer and went to hiddenfolder: C:\ Programdata\Siemens\Automation\SimaticOAM\data\Logdevices Ideleted the XML file for PLCSIM TCP/IP from this folder. Afterwards Istarted Step7 via right click on the icon "run as admin". I opened the PG/PC interface andswitched to PLCSIM.TCPIP.1. I had some strange message about settings but from that moment simulator via TCPIP works.

Sry for my pooor english I have almost the same problem, with S7 5.5 sp3, when i want to transfert the program to PLCSIM i have the message "Unable to reach module CPU 315-2 DP/PN by means of the subnet assigned to programming device/PC" On my computer i have S7V5.5 SP3& TIA V12, The problem appars when i have installed SP1 for TIA V12. Tanks to message from grego_I, i put in the folder: C:\ Programdata\Siemens\Automation\SimaticOAM\data\Logdevices the old XML file for PLCSIM TCP/IP and now all is working Peurhaps this can help sombody
