simon1981 Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	I am currently installing a simoreg DC master to run a CNC spindle. Kindly help me with the two issues below: 1. Is it posible to change direction of rottation using the analogue input 4/5 without using field reversal contactors. using an analogue input oof +10 to -10 from CNC 2. is it a must that the main contactor for 3 phase supply to the drive be controlled by the drive itself or it can be controlled externaly.

Yes it is must (it is safety feature,)that input power to drive is to be controlled thru drive. For additional safety interlocks user may add but not in the power circuit but in enable & start comand signals. HTH.

But at current only one direction is running when the polarity of the analogue input is changed the direction does not change and the motor stops. is there any parameters i need to change taking in mind that this is a single quadrant drive. Thanks in advance

PISCEAN 2010 Posts: 8092 Rating: (884)	In order to have motor rotation direction reversal automaticaly just be reversing analogue set point polarity, user need to have 4Q drive. Or else use hardwire relay logic for filed reversal to change rotational direction of motor.

simon1981 Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	I have installed a 6RA7028-6DS22-0 simoreg dc master single but i have a problem on direction reversal and braking. 1. is it posible to use the analogue input pin 4/5 +10 -10 in conjuction with external field reversal contactors to reverse motor direction without using digital binary input for the same. kindly help. 2. the ramp down time i have set is not working when i am using +10 -10 analogue input to stop it by reducing the voltage level to zero. kindly advice if i am doing something wrong or what should i do.

Look in themanual, chapter 9.18. 1.You could try to use B0129 in P580 from Status word 1 (look at function diagram G182). For this set P594=K0010 (look at G188 and G113). As speed setpoint use abs. value of AI 4,5, set P703=1 and use K0011. 2. For 1Q drive it is only possible to reverse direction of rotation or braking using field reversal. Ramp-down time will not work while you decrease setpoint.
