Hello!

I have problems connecting to my drives.

I use a Computer with Win 8.1, on that i have VMware installed with Win XP SP2.
In Win XP i have installed Starter V4.4.0.3 with all the SSP i could find.

My drives are CU240E-2 DP-F with firmware 4.7
And my PLC is a CPU315F-2 PN/DP

If i add the drives in my S7 HW config i can see them and the program is telling me that they are OK
But when i try to go online in Starter i get an error telling me the connection is not possible

I have tried both Ethernet connection and USB.

If i put the USB cable in a new drive that has not been connected to before i am able to see it in "accessable nodes" and can add it to my project. But when i try to establish an online connection with the drive i get an error. But after that it dissapears from "accessable nodes".

My colleague was able within just seconds to connect with his PC.

I have tested alot of different settings in PG/PC interface.

I feel like the problem is either my operating system or the virtual part.
But im guessing im not alone with a configuration like this so this must be possible to get to work properly.

So if anyone has any idea feel free to tell me.

I will try to get a Virtual Machine with Win 7 and see if that works (Because that is the OS on my colleagues PC)

Hello,

if you plug the USB Cable to your PC is the G120 displayed in the
device manager of the virtual machine?
If not then check that the USB Device is assigned to the VM and not to the Host.
VM -> removable devices -> <G120> -> Connect

Yes, it is there in Device manager.

I have also tried now with a Win 7 virtual machine with the same result. 

Possible to recognise the drive at first and then add it to my project, but still not possible to establish an online connection.

I also have tried to uninstall the G120 device in device manager and making it installing itself again without success.

People, I am trying establishing a communication with my drive (G120C_PN_175UF1 3kW) but I can´t. I read any answers about this or same other problem and I made exactly same, but I can´t comunicate with the drive.

how you connected the G120 to the PC?
USB or ETHERNET?

If USB do you use a USB 2.0 Port? This PORT should also hav High Power.
If the G120 is connected with USB a new device should detected and displayed in the device manager of windows, is this happen on you system?
