GSD file for ET200 SP that contains Packed I/O Modules similar to ET200S

 Hello ,

I understand that  " Packing Addresses" Function(Button) doesn't work with ET 200 SP , but I tried to find a solution for this function.

I looked after GSD file for ET200 SP that contains Packed I/O Modules ( with " * " at end of description) similar to ET200S but i didn't find it.

Please , can someone help me with this issue.

Yes, you are able to pack addresses with another ET200S (like IM151-1).

In the system manual are the requierements listed for packing addresses:

Requirement

• You are in the device view.
• An ET200S, for example an IM151-1, must be present.
• A pair of digital electronics modules, for example 2DIAC120VST, must be inserted into the slots.

In the german part of the forum someone mentioned that the ET 200SP will learn to pack addresses. But i do not know wether this is just a rumor or a fact.

as I heard it is not possible to pack adresses with ET200SP, because it is an other adressing method. You can only adress whole bytes to modules. So if Siemens don´t change that method(I don´t think they will), it will never be possible.

I'm sure that this function (Packing addresses ) is working on ET 200 SP.

Someone send me a project that contains a config  of IM 155 and he used Packing addresses(see attached file ) .

I have installed all HW updates and GSD files from Siemens website , but I cannot pack addresses on my PG.

Maybe someone have an idea what should I update.

Did the configuration on the picture work without problems?

I know that it was possible to configurate this, but it was a failure in a ServicePack. A coleague of mine had this problem too. Whit one SW-Version, it was possible to configure the Packing of ET200SP-Modules, although the modules can not handle this. I think it was 5.5 SP3 HF1, because HF2 came shortly after it. Whit the newest Version of Step7-SW it is not possible.
