How can I control two Servomotors using LOGO?

I'm looking to design an application that controls two Servomotors. I have to work with an infrastructure which is a PLC LOGO! How can I control the Servomotors using LOGO? I've searched over and over but most places say I should use another PLC.

It can be done.. with "if" and "but" conditions.

It depends on what servo drive you are going to use and how you connect. Your control philosophy should not be linked in anyway to the scan speed of the LOGO! if you need to use the LOGO! for such control.

If you intend to tell the servo by a position pulse and direction signal.. then the LOGO! is not what you need. The S7-1200 will suit you better with built-in motion control. The success of the S7-1200 is also based on what your application is.. it is not a cure-all ---- no PLC can claim that title.

Next you could decide to give the drive an analog signal for speed or position setpoint. Yes the LOGO! will do that with the right extensions. Do not expect accurate stopping when doing the speed setpoint root.

If the drive is a programmable positioning drive, that allows you to program position way-points that can be selected with digital signals, this will be ideal. The LOGO! only needs to select which way-point needs to be reached.

Without knowing what application and what hardware (servo), this is the best I can help you.
