I'm having the same problem. I need to get the GroupName of each user on my WinCC project.

Did anyone have the solution?

I solved the problem.

Put "WinCC UserAdminControl" object to the screen. If you dont want to see, hide it behind any object. Dont deactivate "Display" properties, because the VBS code will not working!
Rename this object, for example: "UserAdmin1"
Create a tag, for example: "CurrentGroup", text tag 8-bit

Create this VBS code on this screen, that triggering "@CurrentUser" change:

Dim currentGroup
currentGroup = ScreenItems("UserAdmin1").GetStatusbarElement(1).Text
HMIRuntime.Tags("CurrentGroup").Write currentGroup

This code reads the current group name from the "UserAdminControl" object.

Can someone explain where's the problem?

RT = HMIRuntime.Tags("@DatasourceNameRT").Read

I tried the library before, but it's not working properly with Siemens Electronic Signature. That's the reason why I am looking for another solution to Read the group from logged in User. I am using Simatic Logon V1.5 in my application.

WinCCUserAdmin Control is giving in the StatusBar everything but GROUP name, although it is properly selected in Control..

I have update the library,  if you work with Simatic Logon the users are from the OS, and not from WinCC, this is the reason the  function doesn´t works.

Can you tried this new function?
