Hello,

For a machine display I want to display several screens for operator instructions.

How can I change automatically from screen without using a button on the HMI screen. So for example the first screen is message for the operator: Place product in tool.

When the sensor I0.0 sees the product, so I0.0 value changes from 0 to value 1. Screen 2 will be shown.

The System is TIA Portal S7-1200 PLC with KPT400 basic HMI.

Can anyone help me?

Hello Kokki,

you can use the system functions "ActivateScreen" (by screen name) or "ActivateScreenByNumber" (by screen number obviously - it's to be found in the general properties of the screen).

You can connect that to an event of an internal HMI tag or PLC tag (in "HMI tags").
Choose for example "On exceeding" (of 0 in case if an Integer that gets set as 1).
If you use Boolean tags you might want to not have the screen opened when the Boolean tag is reset to 0.

There would be a simple VBS solution, but basic panels can't do that. So you might need extra tags and some little logic in the PLC to set if the Boolean tag is set to 1 and the tag with the screen number is on the right value. Just feed the screen number to the screen number PLC tag (Integer or similar) on the event "Loaded" on each screen.

Short:

You open the first screen (number 1). ScreenNumber is set to 1.

If TagSensor=1 and ScreenNumber=Y then "ActivateScreen" number Z.

Now ScreenNumber is set to 2, and so on...

Thank you already for your answer. I am a beginner user of Siemens and a have only a Starterskit of S7-1200 PLC with KTP400 basic panel. Which means I have onlly STEP 7 Basic and also WinCC basic.

Your programm is example is in STEP7 Professional and WINCC Comfort, because of that I can not open the file, I can't open the HMI screens and the Main OB and HMI (DB1). Is it possible to save in the Basic version or make Printscreens or PDF printouts?

Thank you for your answer. Is it possible for you to make a small example project whereby I can better understand your suggestions? Especially how sees the PLC network with commando's out to set a new number for the HMI tag. (I have STEP 7 Basic Tia Portal and a KTP400 basic panel)
