For the S7-1200 firmware 3.x, can use web server functionality - but the update is too minor to even bother. For the S7-1200 before firmware 3.0, only updates possible through Siemens MMC external memory card. w

For the S7-1200 before firmware 3.0, only updates possible through Siemens MMC external memory card. w I need to upgrade S-1200 Firmware from 2.2 to 4.x, to enable simulation function in TIA Portal V13 Sp1 Up8. I have the zip download file, but now need to know how to install them in my laptop. Thx.

If you only need the simulation then Change the Version of the PLC in the project, then the simulation work. For that you need no downloaded FW or something else. To change the device version in the project open the device view and here right Click on PLC -> Change type/version. Regards Christoph

Regards Christoph I have no "right Click on PLC -> Change type/version." option. show a screen please! or do you use the project in compatibility mode? Then you must update the project to V13 to change the version in the project.
