Dosing system using Siwarex WT231

AshM Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hello, My supervisor and I currently working on a project: Dosing system. A very simple one consists of a junction box & dosing equipment (a motor, a hopper, scale with a load cell). We are using Siwarex WT231 (using WP231 & HMI KTP400 Basic color PN) with the ready-to-use project, meaning tht this is a stand-alone mode (we don't need PLC). In short, we just figured out tht WP231 weighing module is not intendedly manufactured to do dosing task but gain-in-weight, am I right? Yes, it still can do dosing like for example: We have 20kg material in the hopper. But then if we want to dose 5kg, we need to key in 15kg in 'Preset Tare' and screwfeeder will start dosing. Tht is how it works for now. So, tht is why We want it to be like: Straightly key in 5kg then it starts dosing. Later, we were understood tht the right weighing module for dosing is WP251, but there is no ready-to-use project yet for KTP400 Basic color PN. For KTP700 comfort panel, there is such project. When will 'WT251' gonna come out? or can this WP251 be integrated with another brand of HMI panel? So I really2 kindly ask for any help or recommendation from the experts in this forum for our problem. Thank you :)

The WT231 can show only the current weight value of the scale – nothing more. The correct electronic module for dosing tasks is (as you already mentioned) the WP251 module. But currently there exist no WT251, and it will take some months until Siemens will have the WT251 Terminal! I recommend you to use the WP251 with a Comfort Panel. You can use the Ready-For-Use Stand-Alone project (with the TP700) and into the TIA Portal software you can change that HMI-panel to another Comfort Panel, if necessary. Best regards Siwarexi
