Translating to STL would look like:

// Detect rising/positive edges only
// ..as alternative to using FP
A    signal
AN   memory
=    pulse

A    signal
=    memory

and

// Detect falling/negative edges only
// ..as alternative to using FN
AN   signal
A    memory
=    pulse

A    signal
=    memory

Combined action would be:

// Detect both rising/positive
// and falling/negative edges

AN   signal
X    memory
=    pulse

A    signal
=    memory
