WinCC Flexible RT 2008 and Simatic Net OPC

jR08 Posts: 18 Rating: (0)	Hi guys, I have an application with WinCC flexible runtime 2008 and simatic net (OPC) in the same machine. Is it possible to conect the tags from wincc to the OPC server? My license for the winCC allows up to 128 tags, but if I use tags to the OPC, did this tags count as Power tags? Does anyone know where to find documentation on how to connect WinCC tags to OPC server in the same network? Thanks in advance

With the activation you can find all HMI tags on the OPC server. Regards, Frink

Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 11/15/2024 Posts: 14176 Rating: (1774)	Hello Reis08 Yes, for OPC Server for WInCC flexible you need an extra license (in TIA Portal all OPC Servers are free ). A PowerTag is a Tag that is created in the HMT Tag table in WInCC flexible and is no internal Tag (uses a connection). If you generate your project you will see the used Powertags. If you get access to a Tag over WinCC flexible OPC Server then its no extra tag in WinCC flexible, so no powertag is used. -> If you use WinCC flexible RT as OPC Client with Client channel, then you have to create new Powertags....
