Dear Ing.Hass, You are mentioning a Ethernet CP (CP343-1), with this module you can not use Modbus RTU When you want to use Modbus RTU, you need a serial CP, like CP341. This CP is possible in three variants. One example is RS485, (6ES7 341-1Ch01-0AE0) Then you also need a Loadable driver for CP341, so it can act as Modbus RTU master or Modbus RTU slave. Here are some manuals: SIMATIC S7-300/S7-400 Loadable Driver for Point-to-Point CPs:Modbus protocol, RTU format, S7 is Master SIMATIC S7-300/S7-400 Loadable Driver for Point-to-Point CPs:Modbus protocol, RTU format, S7 is Slave Best regards, Wizard |

Another option would be to use modbus TCP via your CP343 using the Open Modbus TCP software from IT4Industry, and then use a TCP / RTU convertor. Lantronix do a very good one called XPress-DR-IAP. I have used these in the past and they are very good indeed. This acts a TCP modbus slave and a RTU modbus master, so it will be a gateway between the TCP master that is your CP343 and the RTU slave that you want to interface to. |
Programming today is the race between software engineers building bigger and better idiot proof programs, and the universe producing bigger and better idiots. |
