jtlapp Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Encoder cable tests good using Hyundai electrical diagram. Internial shields show continutity to proper pins no shorts to shields, connector back shells show continuity to each other with no shorts to encoder wiring. 840C operator display shows spindle RPM while turning lathe chuck by hand in both directions. Any test points on the spindle module for viewing the encoder signal?

I was wondering about the spindle encoder, I was under the impression that that encoder was only during threading as it's connected to the analog measuring circuit module Good stuff I'm learning. This site is GREAT! Any suggestions about testing the spindle encoder? I agree about testing the motor encoder, cable as a system. It would be nice if the 840C/Simodrive 611 would provide signal test point or on control testing with the built in oscilloscope functions present in the 840C for servo tuning. Suggestions welcome
