In short, you can freely change the code from STL to LAD to FBD to STL with the LAD/STL/FBD program editor by using the View menu. If the conversion is not possible in some networks, those networks will show the code as STL code while other networks will appear as LAD or FBD.

However, the STL has many commands not available in LAD so conversion might not be possible at all.

Even if no such commands are used, it's possible that the structure of the STL is such that it can't be directly converted to LAD without modifying the structure of the code.

Even still, it's possible that there are some commands that would require variable in a specific format (for example compare INT requires INT variables as input) but are instead fed with a variable in another format (WORD is used as an input to compare INT). If the "Type check of address" setting is active, then networks with these kind of commands can only be shown in STL language. To get around this, either de-activate the "type check of address" or modify the program structure so that variable is first converted to correct format (create INT variable in temp area, move the word to INT ect.)
