"Not Compatible" when going online to S7-1200 V3 Firmware

a_Bar Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	I seem to be having some trouble getting online to a new S7-1200 PLC. It has the new version 3 firmware. I have upgraded Step7 to SP2 Update 4, as well I installed the appropriate Hardware Service Pack for this PLC. When I try to go online, it will not connect and will give me error "Not Compatible" The fault light is blinking. The model number that Ive selected and the model number on the PLC are an exact match. Any tips?

HSP26 is the one needed for support of the latest S7-1200 devices. In portal, if you show accessible devices (before opening a project), does the plc show up? If so, go online with it and look at the diagnostic buffer and status to see what is going on with the plc. Reset it to factory defaults and see if you can download to it. It really sounds like the plc configured in your project does not match part # and firmware level with your actual plc.

I am also having same problem. I have CPU1214C 6ES7214-1AG31-0XB0 FW:V3.0.2 When I go to accessible devices,the PLC can be accessed.from there I can go online.But I could not download the configuration or program blocks. When tried to download, it gives"preconditions are not met" Please help. Warm regards, Damayanti
