MxStone Advanced Member Joined: 3/14/2011 Last visit: 9/18/2025 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hello, I'm struggling with following problem of the alarm object (especially displaying acknowledged alarms after PC restart) I've created a message in alarm logging with a Message Tag from the PLC and an Ack Tag from the PLC. The PLC handles this two tags. If eg. Bit 0 of Message Tag turn to 1 -> message is displayed. If Bit0 of AckTag turns to 1 -> message is displayed as an acknowlegded message as configured for this message class. that works fine and correct so far. But if I've to restart the PC (remember message status in PLC doesn't change during this time, means Message Bit is 1, AckBit is 1) and I call up the Alarmobject again the message is displayed as an unacknowedged message. trying to acknowledge this message, doesn't work as the ack tag is still 1 in the PLC. If I try this with internal tags (Runtime persistance checked for internal message tag and internal ack tag) the message is displayed as an acknowledge tag also after i restart the application. ?!?!?! Any help would be appreciated.

Janette Posts: 50 Rating: (3)	Hi, I'm not sure I understand your problem but I think that perhaps Ack bit only should be high for a limited time, like some seconds? Then you can acknowledge again if bit normally gets to low automatically. BR, Janette

Furthermore the ack tag will be 1 as long as the message tag changes it's status which means if message tag turns to 1 - ack is 0 and remains 0 till acknowledge is executed. if ack tag is 1 it will change it's status after message tag resets to 0. But once again why the message status in alarm object is working with internal tags but not with PLC tags in this case ?!?

You have to do the following: For each message (rightclick - Properties) you have to check the option "will be archived" In AlarmLogging under Message archive you have to enable "Reload after power failure" After setting up these parameters I was able to see also acknowledged messages after an application restart Hope this information is helpful to someone
