faceplate (write value to WINCC tag from faceplate)

Dear all,

So if I true understand , there is only one method for write value to wincc tag from faceplate – via configured event AND (!!!) script for this event, which must be entered for every one of objects, which inherit parent faceplate. Script, entered in faceplate event will not effect – faceplates can not «see» wincc tags.

May be there are some other methods – because if my suggestion is true, so faceplate in a some sense will not efficient.

It is will be very good, if faceplate will had possibility to include internal all abstract (VBA, C) source with formally parameters, and all settings atinheritobjects will realized via external properties (like Citect genius :).

not quite sure what you talk about in your post!
Shortly:
1. You can write a value in WinCC tag (internal or external) using:
- direct connection - here you can configure what constant you want to write in a tag;
- by using C or VBS script. Here you can use variety of tag functions (C) or HmiRuntime.Tags object.

2. You have written "objects, which inherit parent faceplate"
There is no heritance among faceplate and objects you use in it!

3. You have written "Script, entered in faceplate event will not effect – faceplates can not «see» wincc tags."
I do not understand what you mean. You can access all tags you had configured in you project! Use them with their full name in case of no tag prefix and with their part name in case of tag prefix.

4. Believe or not - faceplates are very efficient - depends how you understand them, and how you use them.

5. When you get familiar with different SCADA, you have to follow its logic. It is looking strange for you how faceplates is working in WinCC, probably because you are coming from Citect world. I believe that in Citect you open a picture with parameters. In opened picture you use placeholders to construct the tag names or something similar - right?
WinCC use different approach! It uses tag prefixes. That is why you have to name your tags smartly!
I will not argue which approach is better. I only know for sure, that with WinCC you can do very comprehensive faceplate, thanks that there is no as you call it "inheritance" and you open picture in object - "picture window"

Dear Yolov, my comment about #3.

I new in WINCC, so may be there ere many wrongs from me, – in attached screenshots I try to explain what I mean. Help please.

• faceplate. jpg – configuration simple faceplate ( two buttons with confirmation, by which WINCC tag must turn to on/off – dependent on what clicked button)
• faceplate_event.jpg – in this screen I show external events, because there is no access to WINNCC tags, only to faceplate tags
• object_events.jpg – in this screenshots I show, that there is a access to WINNCC tags from VBS, and script work good. So to every new object I must paste this script (with another parameters) - is I wrong ? But may be there are some other ways. For example - it will be good style to store call function «ButtonConfirm» in faceplate, but parameters set via properties

One more question – is there ways to create templates (like WINCC flex, or Citect) – it must be background page with common information (Current user, Date/Time ect.) and navigations.?

…How every page can include this template.

In forums see topic about layers – but can not understand, how layers can be tamplaytes.
