bios update for SIMATIC PG FIELD M6

Since I bought it I had a lot of problems ... and I bought it new. i cannot list them all ... one in particular ... when installing windows 7 under the virtual machine, I can't start booting from the "bootable USB drive". I changed the "start from usb - yes" entry from the bios ... I can't get it started anyway ... or tried to change another entry in the setup now I can't get into the bios to restore it ... I simply say that for what it costs, this device really punishment! Is there a way to replace the original bios? Ordinary people who use the PC to program are not NASA scientists .!! maybe doing a PG with a few less complications would not be bad Thank you Roby

I have enabled this function but there is no way to start W7 from the usb ... I want to install w7 under the virtual machine but I can't get the os to boot from usb ... Only with this pg I had difficulties .... I had bought it I would like to use it as I want, not as Siemens wants ! Thank you

If you want to install Win7 in virtual machine then the virtual machine is running on the host PC (You pG): then the bios inside the VM is used for the VM and not the bios of the host. Bios Settings in Host bios are not relevant for Boot in the virtual machine! Regards Christoph

If I do not tell it from the bios, even from the virtual machine it does not start .. use vmware. the operating system boot from usb is disabled by default for usb Thank you Attachment Immagine.jpg (67 Downloads)

There is no way to start the operating system from usb ... it's the first time that happens to me ... This pc was born bad ... If I insert the power supply when the pg is on , I lose the driver of the wifi! network card and I have to reinstall it ... while I work every now and then the blue screen appears and I have to turn it off and turn it back on ... And I haven't installed anything different from the windows updates ... I don't know. .. we spend a lot of money on these machines and instead of helping us work better they make you crazy ... I want to set it on fire Roby

But if you have problems with VMWare and USB - this could be related to your VMWare version and usb 3.0. I remember there was an issue with VMWare virtualization software and some USB 3.0 chipsets. But it depends on the software type and version. Try to use an usb 2.0 port, if available to boot your Windows 7 in VMWare. Try to search the internet for that topic. If that does not help, you may disable USB 3.0 support in your field-PG M6. regards, xnor

It's a vast and complex topic to customize a Field PG ... If I come back I really think that I wouldn't buy it anymore ... and surely I don't recommend it to anyone... Thank you Roby
