Hi, I would like to share my experience on troubleshooting 6ES7 153-2BA70-0XB0 Y link. Case Study I faced an issue on redundant IM153-2 connecting Y Coupler. The profibus connection for the Y-coupler loss communication. There are neither hardware changes at the field nor at the PLC. BF2 Led lit up in the 153-2BA70-0XB0 and DP1 / DP2 at the Y coupler show no light. *BF1 means Bus Fault high-level profibus DP (red) *BF2 means Bus Fault lower-level profibus (red) Troubleshooting via Profibus Analyser - Profitrace When troubleshoot the loop using profitrace, the profitrace showed master address 1 (153-2BA70-0XB0) was having a config error/ module mismatch. This result was confusing as the module configured was working fine. Suspect Module Fault Hence, I suspect it might be a module fault or firmware issue. (But 153-2BA70-0XB0 model does not have a firmware to upgrade) Turn off one module / replace with Spare Unit Then, I turn off the first redundant IM153-2 and switch the active to the second one (address 2). surprisingly, the first IM153-2 back to normal, with only a system fault. Then the DP1 light at Y-coupler lit on with only two slaves are active. By looking at profitrace bar graph, the voltage level dropped significantly at the slave 11, immediately after Master address 2. Profibus Baud Rate / Signal Strength issue Hence, i conclude there was some issues at the profibus connection/ termination or grounding. With the agreement of plant manager, we change the baud rate from 1.5Mbps to 187.5kbps and the whole loop back to active again. Just for sharing. Attached with a presentation slide with pictures.
