HELLO KINJAL, YOU ARE USING SMPS FOR CPU AND INSTRUMENT OF SPECIFIC RANGE.THAT MEANS YOUR OUTPUT VOLT IS 24 V DC.FUSE AND MCB BOTH HAVE THEIR ADVANTAGES. IF YOU WANT JUST OVER CURRENT PROTECTION FUSE IS MUCH RELIABLE THEN MCB.RESPONSE TIME FOR FUSE IS QUICKER THEN MCB. FUSE CONNECTED IN SERIES. IN OVERCURRENT PROTECTION FUSE WILL BLOW FIRST.WHILE IN MCB IT SHOULD BE CLOSED CIRCUIT THEN IT TRIP .SO FUSE RESPONSE IS FAST.SO I PREFARE FUSE IN PLACE OF MCB.FOR IDENTYFY BLOWN FUSE YOU CAN USE LED INDICATOR TYPE FUSE TERMINALS.SO WHEN FUSE BLOWN LED ON SO YOU CAN IDENTYFY DIRECTLY. Hello, Before deciding, you have to know what do you want to protect, and against what. You do not protect CPU or IM against Over load. So, fast action is needed to protect these electronic components. If fuses are more quickly than MCBs, the fuses will be better for this case. MCB will work, but what will happen if a surge happen? In this case for fuses or semi-conductor fuses should be faster than MCBs. To take a desicion, please read thispaper. Hope this helps.
