Hello jdzt I'm not too sure if I can help, but I can hopefully shed some light on the problem. To start with, here is some background info: You can exchange a maximum of 244 Bytes with anyDP Slave, be this cyclic I/O's or parameter data or (I/O) configuration data. Some DP Slaves can be rather "complex/powerful" nowadays and yourHart capable AI card is of course only one module out of 12 possible onesthat can be configured in your IM153-2 DP Slave. What this means is that the "normal" fully GSD file based parameterisation is no longer feasible (as it would exceed the 244 Byte limit), so a different appproach is needed to be able toparameterise the AI card as part of the IM153-2 DP Slave. What this unfortnately also means is that "adding these parameters togsd file" won't work and I doubtyou'llfind a customized GSD file for it, sorry. Having said that, the solution is: Use so called acyclic Profibus communications toparameterise the DP Slave which is where the Datasets come in and the "fun" begins. Here's what you need to do find out to see if you can actually do this (I'm afraid my Delta V DCS experience is exactly 0%): 1.) Check if theProfibus Master of Delta V DCS is a DPV1 capable Master (ifit only supports DPV0 you are already out of luck, sinceacyclic Dataset reading/writing is only available as of DPV1). 2.) Find out whatfunctions exist in your Delta V DCS to do DPV1 related acyclic Dataset reading/writingfrom DP Slaves (the functionalityisstandardised by Profibus International, a Siemens PLC has SFC58/59 as well as SFB52/53 available for this purpose). 3.) Do the parameterisation as per the manual which you already seemed to have studied very well (you've certainly done your homework, two thumbs up for this).

Hello fritz, Thank you for fast and detail response. Unfortunately DeltaV is DPV0. |

So since Deltav is dpv0 is there another solution for this? I'm running into this problem too. |
