Hello, I like to build a yocto Linux image for the new IOT2050. I do not have one yet but I hope to get one in the near future. For the IOT2040 I used the github project and integrated it in my yocto build environment. https://github.com/siemens/meta-iot2000 I did not find any sign of IOT2050 support in this repository. So how can I build a yocto Linux image for the new hardware version? Or can I use the same image for the old and new IOT device? Sebastian |

The new IOT2050 will run regular Debian, using https://github.com/ilbers/isar/ for modeling the image and related integration tasks (kernel, boot loader, board adjustments). So you will no longer have to fiddle with Yocto and install most of the packages from a distro or from external package repos (like npm). If you like to use Yocto nevertheless, you will likely be able to derive your own recipes and layer from that Isar layer as it is conceptually similar to Yocto/OE. But there is no official Yocto layer for the IOT2050 planned. The Isar layer for the IOT2050 will be published as open source along with the final product image soon. |

The layer hasn't been released to the public yet. For exploring the build with Isar and adding first customizations, I would recommend using the qemuarm64 target. Note that the build procedure and configuration will be more similar to, e.g., https://gitlab.denx.de/Xenomai/xenomai-images than what Isar upstream describes ("raw" bitbake). |
