hello experts! i am facing a problem in step 7 STL/ladder program, In my machine FESTO valves are installed (connected via profibus) with S7 300. As per drawing valves output are digital output A106.3 to 106.6. but problem is when I look for them in program then these bits (output addresses) are not visible. however program is all fine and machine is in running condition with all other function except festo valve operation. FESTO GSD file is properly installed, program file attached. looking forward for understanding of how to excess ON/OFF festo valve via profibus. (particulary A106.3 to 106.6) regards Umair

Hello Coreychen; Do your remember if in that project your Profibus-DP master was a CP 342-5? It is only for a CP 342-5 master that the functions DP_SEND and DP_RECV are required to exchange data between the CP and the CPU over the backplane. What should you watch out for when configuring a CP342-5 as DP master and why is it necessary to call the FC1 'DP_SEND' and FC2 'DP_RECV' functions in the user program of the CPU in order to transfer data? https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/18208090 Such instructions are not necessary if the master uses the integrated DP port of the CPU. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
