Hello j mr j; The SM 336-4GE00-0AB0 is a Safety analog input module that also supports HART communications. It can be programmed as a standard AI module (without Safety features) or as a Safety analog input module for SIL 2 or SIL 3 applications. It is designed to fit in a S7-300 central rack, or a distributed ET 200M chassis, using Profibus or Profinet Interface Modules. As such, it can be linked to S7-300/S7-400 CPUs, or S7-1200/S7-1500 CPUs as a remote I/O. It can be programmed with Safety programs for S7-300 (with Step 7 V5.x), S7-1200 (with TIA Portal Step 7 v1x) or with PCS 7. For Safety applications you will also need a Safety programming software, dedicated to the PLC and Step 7 software you have planned in this project. So, in order to give you more detailed information, we need to know more about the configuration of this project: what CPU will you connect the SM 336 to, what programming software will you be using (Step 7 v5.x, Step 7 v1x...). And do you have an idea of the Safety program you will need (Distributed Safety v5.4, Advanced safety v16...) In the meantime, here are some documents that could help you determine what you need to configure and program the SM 3336-4GE00: - List of available manuals on the 6ES7336-4GE00-0AB0 : - SIMATIC Industrial Software SIMATIC Safety - Configuring and Programming (Safety for TIA Portal, v16) https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/54110126/130224041483 - Wiring and configuration examples for 6ES7336-4GE00-0AB0 (look at the examples in the navigation column at the left of the manual page) From the manual SIMATIC Automation System S7-300 ET 200M Distributed I/O Device Fail-safe signal modules https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/19026151/56284472971 Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
