Hello, MCB is generally used to protect the system from short circuit. So TPN mean Triple Pole(TP)+ Neutral(N)which is 3 phases and neutral ,but the S/C protection is for three phases only and in 4 pole MCB protection is given to all 3 phases as well as neutral..

@nkur Posts: 202 Rating: (16)	TPN-contain 3-pole for three phase i.e is been used for Protection & Isolation whereas N i.e neutral link is used only for Isolation 4pole-in case of 4-pole it is used for both Isolation & Protection of all the three phase as well as neutral.
