You absolutely need a Siemnes compatible memory card, not one from a computer store.  Then the link / instructions already posted and download for the firmware will guide you.

Split from update firmware v2.0 CPU 1212C 24MB card.

It needs to be a Siemens certified memory card like the 6SL7-954-8LF00-0AA0 (24MB), SIMATIC Micro memory card.  Refer to the S7-1200 System Manual for a current list of part #s.

There is also at least one authorized / certified memory card seller that is not Siemens.  In some situations, that option may be less expensive or have faster shipping.  An online search may provide insight (even on these forums you might find alternative authorized memory card suppliers).

A card with 4MB is to small for the Update. I recommend you to choose a bigger SMC,

What firmware is on the PLC now? Version 1.x or 2.0 or 2.1?

If so, you may reach out and contact your local Siemens distributor for assistance.  Their local applications engineer may have a compatible memory card you can borrow long enough to update the firmware in your single PLC.

If you need it for a long period of time, then you need to purchase your own memory card.

Be aware that once you open the packaging for the memory card, it cannot be returned.

I guess firmware for S7-1211C is much smaller so maybe 4MB will do ?

I found 6ES7 954-8LF03-0AA0 at local supplier, gues it is the same ?
