How can i connect  a PLC directly to the internet via Ethernet to remote access it?

Is there an official guide to do this?

I mean to access for example the webserver on the plc without any scalance or similar in the middle.

I mean, do i need to set the router somehow? 

What do i write on the address bar of the browser to connect?

Because some customers don't want to spend money for security purpose (so no Scalance for connection), but they want to remote check the PLC status... is there another way?

I don't know also if maybe exist a better way to remote check the status a PLC than the webserver...

I have heard about something called Wincc/Ux i think, but no idea of how does it works or how i design something for that... :P

 Ok... like i could use teamviewer on a PC near the plc to add security to the network...

I know there could be different ways, i suppose that i could just connect the PLC to the router and probably open somehow some port on the router to allow access from the internet... that would be the solution i'm looking for, but for now i'm not sure how make it works and if this can be difficult if the router is connected to a complex network with already some rules applied.

If the PLC has the Webserver feature then you can enable it.

For the router you need to set up a port forwarding rule to the particular ip address of the PLC.

As an example the Webserver of the PLC uses port 80 by default. Let's assume the IP address of your PLC is 192.168.0.1

The router on the network has a public Ip through which devices can access the internet. Let's say it is 123.456.789.111.

You'll pick any unused external port say 7880 and the internal port would be 80

The ip address you're forwarding is the ip address of the plc

The setup should then be like this

123.456.789.111:7880 to 192.168.0.1:80

To access the webserver of the PLC you would now type 123.456.789.111:7880 on the remote PC or mobile device and it should work fine
