How to connect WinCC and GE Multinet (modbus RTU to modbus TCP/IP converter) via Modbus TCP/IP

Tien-vm Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi, I have a project and need to read data from power meter EPM5500P of GE (support modbus RTU protocol) and I also have Multinet converter to convert Modbus RTU to Modbus TCP/IP. After connect one power meter and config IP address for Multinet, I have tried connect and add to channel Modbus TCP/IP in WinCC but look like WinCC cannot connect to Multinet. Is this way correct? Are there have any other solution ? (OPC server,...)

So I'm thinking ~ Maybe it will ensure you successful if you use the following mechanism: 【WinCC】/ being OPC DA Client \|\| 【KEPServerEx】/ being as OPC-Modbus Gateway : OPC DA Server & Modbus-RTU (Master) \|\| 【Power meter EPM5500P】/ being as Modus-RTU (Slave) Good luck, Komi

SteBo Platinum Member Joined: 10/3/2010 Last visit: 9/15/2025 Posts: 1568 Rating: (196)	Can't really help you with the WinCC Modbus part but you be sure first that your Modbus TCP communication over the converter to your Power meter is working fine. I've used Modscan32 in the past for testing purposes (using the demo version). If it's working in Modscan32, then you cango on and try to integrate your communication in WinCC. Good luck. Brgds.
