MM440 Undervoltage Fault F003

Arpit Bronze Member Joined: 5/27/2009 Last visit: 5/27/2020 Posts: 49 Rating: (0)	Dear All, At one site, i am facing problem with Micromaster 440 Drive, many drives have been failed and the fault code is F003. 3-phase supply to the drive is okay but no VDC volt. i am not able to find the reason of the failure, pls help me what and how should i check the factors for this fault. Drive Details : mm440 4kW, 5.5 kW Fault codes in the drive : 3. (no other faults, like overvoltage, overcurrent.)

Hi Arpit, You mention "many" drives, what are the percentage of failures in relation to the installed MM440's. In terms of the faults, do the failing drives have an integral filter or not, maybe include part numbers. Have you managed to monitor (at very least over 24hrs) the incoming supply using a 3 phase power monitoring system? Are there any visible clues (burn marks) or smells? There is not really much you can do with a 5.5kW MM440, as this is in a Framesize 'C' package, so repair is not deemed as economical. Regards, Graeme

First thing is to check supply voltage physically at drive input terminals and if its OK then check DC Voltage at r0026 and check whether u r geting DC voltage or not You said that drives are failed on this fault. Does it means that u were not able to reset the fault?? If YES then that means your rectifier is Mostly Faulty. This happens generally because of input supply. Please check for fluctuations in input supply. I hope u have installed proper protection like Semi Conductor fuses and Input Choke.. and if Fault is temperory then you might have brief supply failure from your incomer side. Only way to trace is careful observation of situation Regards, Devesh

Arpit Bronze Member Joined: 5/27/2009 Last visit: 5/27/2020 Posts: 49 Rating: (0)	Dear Graema, - 5 drives out of 21 drives have failed for last 8 months. and it is on this site, and 1 to 2 drives fails at other sites also, - Drive has not integral filter in it, we use common line choke for entire electric panel, not individually for all drives. - i could not be able to monitor supply voltage every day, but i measure it weekly, and it found okay, but supply cuts off from main incoming sometimes and it happens regularly. - there is no any clue for burning or any damage.

Dear Greama and All, i have same problem with Micromaster 440 drive -F0003. drive details -MM440 75 kw, 3-phase supply to the drive is okay but no VDC volt, no shocking load outside, if i use spare drive by replacing the faulty drive, there is no sign of fault on the new drive......i have three faulty drives(MM440 75 kw) having same fault F0003. what can i do ? regards Sazzad KSRM Bangladesh

I am very much sure that the problem is comming from the fluctuations and it is very important to have a record for the problem in order to avoid more MM4 failures. And I do recommend not to install more MM4 drives withoutLine commutating chocke CA01 Line commutating chocke Line commutating chokes are used to smooth voltage peaks or to bridge commutating dips. In addition, line commutating chokes reduce the effects of harmonics on the inverter and the power supply. If the line impedance is <1%, a line commutating choke must be used in order to reduce the current peaks. ..... Attached a document that show you in a simple way how to measure % line impedance.
