Position Monitoring Error

Hi All,

Im using G120C with Positioning Axis and the encoder is SSI Absolute Encoder 25 Bit which i connect to TM Posinput 1 module. I can do drive commissioning but when it comes to TO commissioning, i cant move the motor but the position value increasing. And then it gives an error of "Position Monitoring Error". I tried changing the parameter in positioning window but still not solve my problem. Can anyone help me with this?

just to understand it correctly:

You have a G120C - so the speed control of the motor is without encoder. Do you operate the drive in V/f moder or what? I guess you use an asynchronous motor, do you?

Have you done stationary and rotary measurement to optimize the control behavior of the drive?

I guess that you would be able to operate the drive when using higher speeds, do you? Maybe the drive just does not really move in slow speeds when the asynchronous motor is not really optimized - closed loop control near 0Hz is always a little bit tricky without an encoder.

Which telegram do you use between PLC and drive?

What do you mean by this? How it comes that the motor is not moving and the position is changing? Can you elaborate on this issue?

I have seen this behaviour when someone 'forgot' to put a 'key' on the motor / geabox shaft. The motor turns but there is no other output movement. The external encoder stays in one place.

I've asked as this is unusual situation which may need to be solved before any commissioning. Unless it is an elevator. Hopefully without persons inside. 

Finally if something moves without a motor, then maybe it doesn't require any.

Thanks for the reply but i solved it already. Apparently inside the TO i forgot to uncheck the "activate simulation". Now all running fine 

I realize the problem has been solved, but I absolutely must do a +++1 for this post.
