MLFB number which you mentioned above is of NCU box. Please provide NCU number along with version details, also please provide whether it is with HMI embeded or HMI advance system. Upon receipt of these details,port availability on the system could be found out.

Main NCU & PLC, HMI communicates via MPI, PLC DP communicates via Profibus. 

Please specify which data you want to read from system, like NC variables, drive data or PLC data?

From your description--seems you used SCADA sw with other Siemens controllers and successful, if yes, please post detail of control name of Siemens,

and what kind of data you want to read out, please detail named.

Hi All,

I have a client using CPU/PLC named as 840D NCU-Box (6FC5247-0AA00-0AA1). This CPU is connected to I/Os and a HMI. My requirement is to read data out from the CPU to our SCADA software (Not Siemens 3rd party software). The scada software supports variety of protocols for different Siemens controllers to communicate and read data from. 

My questions are:

1. Does the 840D controller have any port to read data out to a 3rd party software and what communication protocol it support?

2. Is there any interfacing device (gateway) available from Siemens which allows to connect to 840D and access data over Ethernet? 

3. Does the I/O connect to the 840D CPU via MPI or Profibus? 

To summaries, my requirement is to get the data out from the CPU and read it on a 3rd party scada software.

The MLFB number which you mentioned is of stand alone CPU. In 840 or rather Sinumerik CNC, PLC is embeded part of NCU & CPU model is dependent on NCU module. Use can acess data from NCU as well as PLC & can communicate with network. Please download & refer SINUMERIK 840D sl/840Di sl/840D/840Di/810D System Variables  manual which may help you.
