Hi,
We are in the design phase pf aproject where we are using '6ES7 317-2EK14-0AB0' CPU. This CPU is S7 317 2PNDP. Now, as per client's requirement we shall communicate with 5 No's of MODBUS/TCP slaves. The MODBUS TCP slaves are Nivus PRO CF (MCERT) Flowmeters. As per the Nivus flowmeter manual, these support MODBUS TCP communication. As per the data on Siemens site , I presume, we should go for following solution "MODBUS block for PN PLCs This MODBUS version is applicable to SIMATIC S7 PN PLCs and ET200S PN PLCs. In this case, the integrated PN-interface is used for the MODBUS communication. Modbus/TCP PN (2XV9 450-1MB02) .. we need to purchase this. 6ES7 317-2EK14-0AB0 V3.1" So, 1. Please validate if my understanding is correct. 2. Is it possible to take status and do control the MODBUS TCP slaves aforementioned, by using this solution. 3. Please provide sample code. Please refer attached PROCF manual: OCM Pro CF 147428_okcdba42.pdf (35,03 KB) AttachmentC:\Ajay Bhate\Technical Documents\OCM Pro CF 147428_okcdba42.pdf (57 Downloads) |

Hi, yes, you can use this modbus product. If the flowmeters acts as modbus slave (= server), then the PN CPU acts as client (= master). Pay attention to the terms. With the PN CPU you can read data from the flowmeter and write data to the flowmeter. The demo version and the manual you can download here: www.siemens.com/s7modbus, tab "Downloads". Wüstenräuber |
