Hi all Im new toS7 PLC's -I have an S7-400 PLC justshipped in and im trying to upload the config. I am using MPI and can see the PLC when I click view- When I enter thethe rack and slot assignment and say OK I get the error message "The configuration cannot be uploaded to the programming device (PG) because the configuration cannot be determined from the CPU" - I'm after trying a few things like Memory Reset, power cycle etc Any help appreciated |

Hello, did you provide the right rack/slot numbers? How the configuration looks like and what numbers you wrote there?Did the PLC come with some product, I mean should it be already configured? If it's the new one (or if you've really made the memory reset) there is probablyno configuration inside and you have to make it yourself. Regards Sydney |

Sorry, but since you say that you are new to siemens PLCs, I have to ask this Do you mean upload or download? In Siemens world,
In your case, probably there is nothing to "upload" as the PLC is new, hence the message. |

Sydney and daga, thanks for the replys - i was informed that the confi was downloaded to the plc by the SI but wires got crossed and the PLC config was blank and ye were correct - cant upload nothing. I have downloaded now thanks for assistance |
