Hello Mr. FA; You have a Profibus option board (6SE6400-1PB00-0AA0) installed on your MM 420 drive? This Profibus interface is designed to work at up to 12 MB, as you can see from the technical data of the board, taken from this manual: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/us/en/view/6586565 In my experience, being limited to 9,6 kB with this module on a Profibus-DP network indicates a very bad electrical setup of the network. The last time this happened to one of our projects, we discovered that the contractor had cut all the ground (shield) connections between the Profibus cable and the Profibus connectors to make his installation faster. Profibus (because it is based on RS-485) can be very forgiving at 9,6 kB, but if you try to work at a higher speed with unreliable electrical connections the number of reflections increase exponentially on the bus and communications are no longer possible. He tried to get out of it by claiming hes had followed the installation guides adequately; it did not work, and cost him a completely new cable purchase and installation, along with our mistrust. So start by verifying all cable and connectors, change them if necessary; use only Profibus-DP certified cables and connectors in an industrial installation. Make sure ground connections are adequate, and that all the network is properly grounded. Eliminate all possibilities of EMC, such as placing Profibus cables near high-power electric cable or near electric motors.
