Sending S7 Data to Azure

HMK_Nick Experienced Member Joined: 9/24/2008 Last visit: 10/2/2024 Posts: 30 Rating: (8)	Hi, I have a simple setup comprising S7-1500, IOT2040 with Node-RED and Azure IoT Hub but am struggling to correctly format the data received from the S7 so that it can be sent to Azure. I have used the node-red-contrib-s7 node to sucessfully read a series of values from the PLC and can see these in the debug window in Node_RED. I am also using node-red-contrib-azure-iot-hub to send data to Azure IoT but only using fixed data values as set in the example. I have been trying to format a msg that incorporates the received data from S7 and inserts it into message set to Azure but cannot seem to get the formatting correct. Does anyone have any examples of sending variables to Azure via the Azure IoT Hub command? Thanks

I have switched from using node-red-contrib-azure-iot-hub and instead am using node-red-contrib-azureiothubnode This lacks the registration function to register the device in Azure but as I had already done this it's not a problem for now. The azureiothub command is happy to accept a string as an input and successfully sends this data to Azure. I did have to remove node-red-contrib-azure-iot-hub as I found they seemed to clash with each other.

Mr. LVS Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi HMK, could you please tell me, beyond the npm packages below, do you remember what npm packages you installed on IOT2000? -azure-iot-device -azure-iot-device-mqtt -azure-iot-device-http -azure-iot-device-amqp I have some issues (pictures attached) to estabilish the connection between the Azure IOT hub and the IOT2000. When I send a message to the IOT Hub node in node-red, it shows the follow message: "Error while trying to send message:Error: AMQP Transport: Could not connect" Attachment Screenshots.zip (657 Downloads)

I will evaluate if the alternative Azure CLI can be installed on the IOT and get back to you next week. Kind regards!
