Can IOT read the S7 comm of the PLC?

But is not possible to connect a ET200SP Interface module directly to the IOT using S7 connection. For this kind of connection you'll need the Realtime image for the IOT2040 and the PROFINET driver. avaz Posts: 47 Rating: (0)	Thank you! So the problem is not the PLC but the IOT that that doesn´t have the necessary implementation in it to read the S7 comm off the PLC? After watching the steps i observe that it is required some steps on TIA 15.0 or 15.1, i only have available a VM with TIA 12.0. Am i able to programme it using my TIA?

It is a "dumb" device requiring a PROFINET Controller. It provides data to a PROFINET Controller via Profinet. An interface module cannot speak S7. About what device are we talking exactly? MLFB? The PN Driver requires at least TIA V15. It is not possible to use that feature with TIA V12. Best regards!

avaz Posts: 47 Rating: (0)	I understand mine is the ET200S 1P 6ES7 151-8AB01-0Ab0. The curios hing i don´t understand but maybe for misinformation about profinet is why, after programming ,being not connected to any TIA portal, i can still ping it on my network. If it requires a PROFINET driver it shouldn´t work right?

So it should be able to communicate with the IOT2040 using the S7 node. Compared to a S7-1200/1500 it is Rack 0, Slot 2 by default. Maybe that's your problem? avaz The curios hing i don´t understand but maybe for misinformation about profinet is why, after programming ,being not connected to any TIA portal, i can still ping it on my network. If it requires a PROFINET driver it shouldn´t work right? Ping works, because the device has an IP address. This has nothing to do with the - let's say - data communication. And TIA is no Profinet Controller in this case. A Profinet Controller is another CPU in the most cases or any PC with the Profinet Driver installed. Best regards!
