What kind of HMI/HMI communication are you looking for? In case of client/server arhitecture, like for example in PCS7, you run HMI/HMI communication over terminalbus. In the other words, WinCC client, as a HMI, reads WinCC server as HMI and displays it's values. In case of two standalone machines, as we speak, i do not think there is a straightforward solution to achieve communication with functionality similar to PLC/HMI communication. But, as few people already mentioned, there is always OPC as a backup solution :-) Hope this helps. Regards.

Hello, Is it a real or Hypothetical question? If you would like to communicate between 2 HMI stations, then we have two options: The two HMI stations are connected to One CPU The two HMI stations are connected to Two CPUs This because HMI doesn't have an internal memory to transmit from or to. You write on HMI an Input field for instance to write it in certain address of the CPU or you can read this address from PLC on HMI output field. So, the question is not HMI-HMI communication coz there should be CPUs in the system. Back to above options: If your case is Option 1, then you are communicating to same CPU through both HMI stations. If your case is Option 2, then you need the following link: CPU-CPU communication with SIMATIC controllers (compendium) Hope this helps.

SolutionFinder Posts: 559 Rating: (87)	What do you want to do with HMI TO HMI communication? If you just want to transfer data between 2 HMIs the you can just use any small PLC. Define tags in both HMIs & then use the same in PLC.
